Power Door Lock Fuse Keeps Blowing

Worked fine for a week until i hooked up my camper again. If the power door lock relay fails it will cut off power to the entire power door lock. Unplug cigarette lighter check circuit unplug each door individualy at first don t forget the back doors check circuit. Does it blow the fuse if so sounds like possibly a door lock actuator is going out and sticking causing the fuse to blow.

Ive disconnected the brake controller the cig. Maybe one of the lock actuators or a switch. I hooked up my camper and a few mile down the road i could smell electric burning. Usualy the door wiring is damaged but there may be more then two cigarette lightes depending on the model.

To test disconnect all locks and switch then replace fuse if don t blow start with driver door and reconnect lock check fuse see if it blew if not reconnect switch active lock check fuse see if ok. You have a short somewhere in the system. If you caught it early enough you may be able to clean it up with dielectric grease a must have for working on car electrical systems. Iv since had the dash back apart and replaced the door lock relay.
